About The Position

Under general supervision, this position will provide instruction to students in automotive technology courses. The instructor will demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, and effective oral and written communication skills. They will also demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures, follow approved course syllabi, and complete all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner while maintaining an accurate inventory of assigned properties. Requirements

  • An active ASE Master Certification
  • A Diploma or higher in the teaching discipline with verifiable credentials, qualifications, OR competencies appropriate for teaching the course content, OR In-field certifications, OR three (3) years of experience in-field.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree outside of the teaching discipline with industry certifications or verifiable work experience appropriate for teaching the course content.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students in automotive technology courses.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures.
  • Maintain proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping.
  • Demonstrate effective use of oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.
  • Follow the approved course syllabus.
  • Complete all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
  • Support students of underrepresented gender and minority groups, as well as students with disabilities.
  • Participate fully in the realization of equity in recruitment, enrollment, retention, graduation, and placement of students.
