About The Position

We are hiring an Automotive Technician II at our Manheim Nevada location. We're looking for a mid-level tech who takes pride in quality work and wants to grow with a team that actually invests in your future. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gas and diesel vehicles, conducting repairs on various vehicle systems, replacing parts, performing light fabrication, welding, or modifications, using scan tools and diagnostic equipment, troubleshooting drivability issues, and determining root causes of failures. Senior Automotive Technicians will perform advanced diagnostics, clutch and transmission replacement, identify and acquire necessary parts, and may upfit new vehicles or perform OEM recalls.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience (for Level 2).
  • 5+ years of automotive service and repair experience (for Senior Level).
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Current ASE Certification: G1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 when required by leadership (for Level 2).
  • Current ASE Certifications: A1-9, (L1 in emission states) when required by leadership (for Senior Level).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance services (PMs), including oil changes, filter replacement, fluid checks, and inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gas and diesel vehicles.
  • Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC systems.
  • Replace parts and components according to manufacturer specifications and shop standards.
  • Perform light fabrication, welding, or modifications when needed.
  • Use scan tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment to identify vehicle faults.
  • Accurately troubleshoot drivability issues, electrical problems, and intermittent concerns.
  • Determine root causes of failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
  • Escalate highly complex or unusual issues to senior technicians while assisting in diagnosis.
  • Performing advanced diagnostics.
  • Clutch and transmission replacement.
  • Identifying required parts and partner with our parts & procurement teams to acquire necessary parts, supplies and materials.
  • Alerting team lead and/or management about difficult issues, patterns and trends.
  • May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • May be required to perform OEM recalls.

  • Hourly base pay rate is $22.02 - $33.08/hour (Level 2) or $26.73– $40.10 per hour (Senior Level).
