Requirements

  • 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience (for Level 2).
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles (for Level 2).
  • 5+ years automotive service and repair experience (for Senior Technician).
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles (for Senior Technician).
  • Diesel and transmission experience (for Senior Technician).
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED (for Level 2).
  • Current ASE Certification: G1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8 when required by leadership (for Level 2).
  • High school diploma or GED (for Senior Technician).
  • Medium/heavy work, booms/hydraulics, electrical and complex repairs experience (for Senior Technician).
  • One year of customer service experience (for Senior Technician).
  • A.S.E. Automotive or other related certifications when required by leadership (for Senior Technician).

Responsibilities

  • Providing highly skilled maintenance and repairs for all vehicles.
  • Performing diagnostics which may include brake components, tires, suspension components, drivability and complete repairs.
  • Performing advanced diagnostics, which may include charging, starting, AC, OBDII, drivability, electrical systems and complete repairs.
  • Completing mechanical inspection including required measurements, which may include interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, under hood inspection and document deficiencies.
  • Complying with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires and disposable trash.
  • May be required to perform OEM recalls.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
  • Has medium/heavy truck experience, booms/hydraulics, electrical, any complex repairs, design and fabrication.
  • Skilled on diesel and transmission repairs
  • Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
