About The Position

Fountain Tire Nanaimo is expanding its mechanical business to an 11-bay shop and is looking for a responsible, safe, and dedicated associate to join their team as a Licensed Automotive Service Technician. This is an opportunity to work in a beautiful, clean shop with state-of-the-art equipment, with lots of opportunity to make extra money with overtime and productivity bonuses. Requirements

• Red Seal Automotive Service Technician + CVI Inspection Certification
• Strong knowledge of automotive industry and skills required to provide mechanical service to our customers
• A diagnostic specialist that enjoys keeping up with modern technology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to providing a superior customer experience
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract from province of residence on an annual basis

Nice To Haves

• Diesel experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction on a customer’s vehicle
• Performing appropriate repairs with accuracy and efficiency
• Completing approved service on customer vehicles
• Testing and adjusting vehicle systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications
• Performing scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
• Advising customers and associates on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements
• Maintaining mechanical service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis
• Operating company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner
• Supporting customer relationships by responding to customer inquiries
