About The Position

The Automotive Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of cars and light trucks. This role uses computerized diagnostic equipment, software and visual techniques in the management of vehicle systems repair.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Automotive Repair experience on domestic & foreign vehicles: 5 years, required
  • Must demonstrate working understanding of vehicle repair procedures, mechanical skills and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication
  • US work authorization.
  • Driver's License, unrestricted.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification, preferred.
  • Maintain TIA & ALI certification upon training received.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough understanding of vehicle systems including, but not limited to, air conditioning, cooling, suspension, brake, ignition, fuel, etc.
  • Accurately diagnose and perform required repairs with proper documentation of all work performed.
  • Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form for each vehicle.
  • Perform all levels of preventive and routine maintenance services.
  • Ability to quality check work after repairs to ensure vehicle is fixed correctly.
  • Road test vehicles after repairs are performed.
  • Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
  • Must use dollies, jacks, hoists, lifts and various tools in accordance with proper use and safety guidelines.
  • Use proper ergonomics when lifting to avoid strains.
