About The Position

MISSION To provide safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Test drive customer vehicles and run diagnostic devices. Perform accurate diagnosis of check engine, air bag, antilock, and traction control lights. Diagnose and repair issues that cause vibration and noise. Perform mechanical repairs of brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and all other major automotive systems. Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas. Perform wheel alignment service. Perform state safety and emissions inspections. Perform General Service tasks as necessary. Maintain tools and a clean work area. Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in job description. Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Trade School
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Tire Industry Association ATS certification
  • ASE certifications
  • Vendor-provided training
  • Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools
  • Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • Ability to operate phone systems for the effective communication of information to interested parties
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions
