Experienced Automotive Technician (GM Experience Preferred)
About The Position
Bob Johnson GM, Inc. is looking for an experienced, highly skilled Automotive Technician to join our Chevrolet and GMC service department in LeRoy, NY. This position is geared toward a technician who is comfortable handling advanced diagnostics, electrical concerns, drivability issues, engine and transmission repairs, and more complex mechanical work. GM experience is strongly preferred, and the more GM training, certifications, and dealership experience you bring, the better. We are looking for an experienced technician who can be relied upon when a vehicle has a difficult problem that needs to be properly diagnosed and repaired. We are especially interested in technicians with extensive GM dealership experience who are looking for a long-term opportunity with a busy service department, excellent earning potential, strong benefits, and a company that rewards its technicians.
Requirements
- Several years of professional automotive repair experience
- GM dealership experience strongly preferred
- Strong diagnostic and electrical skills
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of workmanship
- Comfortable working independently and managing a full workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Valid NYS driver's license
Nice To Haves
- GM training and certifications are a major plus
- Chevrolet and GMC experience preferred
- Extensive GM dealership experience
- Experience working on Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, or Cadillac vehicles
- Understanding of GM systems and diagnostic procedures
Responsibilities
- Handling advanced diagnostics
- Addressing electrical concerns

- Performing engine and transmission repairs
- Completing complex mechanical work
- Diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle concerns
- Working on engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, steering, HVAC, and electrical systems
