About The Position

Bergey’s Inc. is hiring a skilled-level automotive technician/mechanic for its Ford location in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The technician performs diagnoses and mechanical repairs across vehicle systems and may specialize in particular repair areas. The role is intended for someone who has previously worked as a C-level general mechanic and automotive technician. Work must be completed efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Requirements

Previous work as a C-level general mechanic and automotive technician.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.
Manufacturer training.
State emission certification.
State vehicle inspector certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Perform automotive technician work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
Diagnose malfunctions and perform mechanical repairs.
Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts when a job is under warranty or when requested by the customer.
Examine assigned vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended.
Immediately communicate with the service advisor if additional work is needed, listed work is unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Road-test vehicles when required or refer them to the test automotive technician.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
