About The Position

The Automotive Service Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned, following dealership and factory standards. The technician may oversee assigned apprentice technicians, diagnose malfunctions, communicate with service and parts staff, document repairs, and road-test vehicles when required. The role also includes attending factory-sponsored training, keeping up with technical bulletins, maintaining a clean and organized shop, and following safety and hazardous-waste regulations. Audi New Orleans describes a climate-controlled shop and offers professional growth, mentorship, training, and coaching. Relocation bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified technicians. Compensation is $30–$45 per hour for entry-level or non-Audi experience and up to $60 per hour for Audi Master Technicians.

Requirements

• High CSI.
• ASE certification or manufacturer training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Manual dexterity.
• Good judgment.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform duties and responsibilities safely.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and take them to the stall area.
• Perform work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts when a job is under warranty or when requested by the customer.
• Examine vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required.
• Immediately notify the service advisor if additional outlined work is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Document work performed.
• Road-test vehicles when required or refer them to the test technician, without using customer vehicles for personal errands.
• Supervise assigned apprentice technicians.
• Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Ensure customers’ cars are kept clean.
• Keep the shop area neat and clean and account for dealership-owned tools.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including rules for hazardous-waste disposal.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
