Requirements

  • Previous automotive dealership service experience preferred.
  • Prior dispatching, shop foreman, service advisor, or technician experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automotive repair processes and technician skill classifications.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic office software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and dispatch repair orders to technicians based on skill level, certifications, workload, and availability.
  • Monitor workflow throughout the day to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance services.
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors and Shop Foreman to prioritize customer needs and expedite urgent repairs.
  • Maintain technician productivity and efficiency by balancing workloads and minimizing downtime.
  • Track vehicle status and communicate updates regarding delays or scheduling adjustments.
  • Review repair order progress and adjust assignments as needed to optimize shop performance.
  • Assist in maintaining shop capacity planning and technician scheduling.
  • Ensure all repair orders are properly documented and routed through the service process.
  • Support departmental goals related to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
