About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Tacoma is hiring an Entry-Level Automotive Service Technician to join their busy service team. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced technicians, and build skills for a career in automotive repair. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn. Previous automotive coursework, shop experience, or personal vehicle work is helpful but not required. The role offers a professional dealership environment with exposure to Mercedes-Benz vehicles and technology.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Interest in building a career in automotive service and repair
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements
Ability to communicate and work effectively with others
Basic computer and math skills
Willingness to learn new automotive technology, tools, and repair procedures
Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company requirements
Ability to meet applicable pre-employment requirements

Nice To Haves

Automotive coursework, technical-school training, or previous hands-on automotive experience

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, inspections, and other basic services
Assist experienced technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs
Learn to safely use automotive tools, lifts, shop equipment, and diagnostic systems
Develop hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and vehicle systems
Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance or repair needs within the scope of your training
Complete assigned work according to Mercedes-Benz and dealership procedures and quality standards
Accurately document completed work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Work closely with technicians, service advisors, and parts personnel to keep the service department running efficiently
Participate in training and continue developing your technical skills
Safely operate customer and dealership vehicles as required
