The Experienced / Certified Automotive Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer standards and Tom Wood quality expectations. Requirements

3+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience (preferred)
Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
Experience with modern diagnostic tools and repair software
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning
Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Familiarity with shop equipment (alignment systems, tire machines, diagnostic tools, AC service equipment)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

OEM certification(s) and/or ASE certifications strongly preferred
ASE certifications or OEM training preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

Perform accurate diagnostics and complex mechanical and electrical repairs
Repair engines, transmissions, drive trains, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems
Follow OEM repair procedures and dealership quality standards
Document all work performed clearly and accurately in the dealer management system
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair findings and recommendations
Stay current on evolving vehicle technology through training and certification programs
Support shop efficiency by working collaboratively with teammates
Mentor or support junior technicians as needed
Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential issues early
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems with accuracy
Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs and recommendations
Stay current with evolving automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques
Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets or exceeds manufacturer standards
