About The Position

Swickard Honda of Thousand Oaks is seeking an experienced flat-rate technician with strong Honda or Japanese brand fundamentals. The ideal candidate knows the platform, diagnoses accurately, and has a low comeback rate. This role involves working efficiently and maintaining a high quality standard to produce solid flat-rate hours. The position is at a well-run Southern California Honda store with consistent service volume and a shop environment that respects the technician's craft. Requirements

• 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience at a franchised dealership
• Honda or Japanese brand experience strongly preferred -- Honda, Acura, Toyota, Nissan, or similar platform background transfers directly; Honda HDS familiarity and factory certifications are meaningful advantages
• Strong diagnostic foundation with a track record of accurate first-time repairs and a low comeback rate
• Efficient and consistent on flat rate -- you produce hours because you know the work, not because you rush it
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

• ASE certifications a strong plus
• Honda factory certifications reflected in rate

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Honda vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and beyond -- using Honda HDS diagnostic tools and OEM procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors so guests receive honest, complete recommendations
• Execute repairs to Honda OEM specifications with speed, accuracy, and consistent quality
• Document all diagnostic findings and completed work accurately on repair orders
• Stay current on Honda technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
