Experienced Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced flat-rate technician with strong diagnostic fundamentals and a commitment to quality for our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Anchorage, AK. This role involves diagnosing and repairing Mercedes-Benz vehicles across all systems, performing multi-point inspections, and communicating findings to service advisors. The ideal candidate will execute repairs to factory specifications with speed and accuracy, document work precisely, and stay current with manufacturer technical updates. Requirements
- 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience at a franchised dealership -- required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Mercedes-Benz or European brand experience preferred -- BMW, Audi, Volvo, or similar backgrounds a strong advantage; any brand background with strong diagnostic fundamentals welcome
- XENTRY/DAS diagnostic platform experience preferred -- or equivalent European diagnostic tool proficiency
- Strong diagnostic foundation with a low comeback rate and a quality standard that doesn't waver under volume
- ASE certifications a strong plus -- MBZ factory certifications highly valued and reflected in rate
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, advanced electrical, suspension, HVAC, and beyond -- using XENTRY/DAS and OEM diagnostic procedures
- Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
- Execute repairs to Mercedes-Benz factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
- Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed and parts used with precision
- Stay current on MBZ technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
- Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
