The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring an exceptional customer experience while accurately identifying service needs, preparing estimates, and coordinating repairs. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and knowledgeable about automotive service and repair.

Requirements

Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or similar customer service role preferred
Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Customer-focused mindset with strong sales and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with shop management software and basic computer skills
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly and professionally, both in person and by phone
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
Recommend necessary maintenance and repairs based on vehicle condition and manufacturer guidelines
Prepare and explain repair estimates, timelines, and costs clearly and transparently
Obtain customer authorization for repairs and additional services
Coordinate workflow with technicians to ensure efficient and timely service
Provide customers with regular updates on repair status
Review completed work with customers and explain invoices upon vehicle pickup
Maintain accurate service records and customer information
Promote preventative maintenance services when appropriate
Address customer questions or concerns and resolve issues professionally
