Experienced Automotive Service Advisor
About The Position
D.I.B. Automotive Group is hiring an experienced Automotive Service Advisor for our Kingwood Tire & Auto location. We’re looking for an established automotive professional who understands both the technical and customer-service sides of the repair business. The right candidate will have strong automotive knowledge, proven sales and communication skills, and the ability to manage customers, technicians, and daily service workflow in a busy repair environment. This is not an entry-level opportunity. Candidates should have significant automotive service advising, service management, or related repair industry experience.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of automotive service advising, service management, or related automotive repair experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance
- Previous leadership or management experience within an automotive service environment
- Proven customer service and automotive sales skills
- Ability to translate technical repair information into clear explanations for customers
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostic and repair processes
- Experience managing workflow and prioritizing vehicles in a busy service department
- Experience working with automotive shop management software
- Familiarity with tires, vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and general automotive repair
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused approach
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced automotive repair environment
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and determine their vehicle service, maintenance, and repair needs
- Review vehicle inspections and communicate recommended repairs and maintenance clearly
- Explain repair recommendations, pricing, service options, and expected completion timelines
- Build customer relationships and trust while confidently presenting necessary repairs and maintenance
- Work closely with technicians to coordinate repairs and keep vehicles progressing through the shop
- Assist with managing daily workflow, vehicle progress, and technician productivity
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer conversations, approvals, services, and repair recommendations
- Provide customers with updates throughout the repair process
- Follow up with customers regarding completed work and overall satisfaction
- Professionally address customer questions, concerns, and escalations
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and professional service department
- Support the coaching and development of team members when needed
- Stay knowledgeable about automotive repair procedures, technology, and industry service practices
