About The Position

The Automotive Service Advisor is responsible for overseeing service orders and the flow of the Drive Lane, ensuring customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service. This role involves taking ownership of the customer's experience, providing concierge support for all owner inquiries, and managing the daily inventory of technicians' time to ensure it is consistently sold. The advisor will also distribute work efficiently among technicians, answer technical questions, and maintain high customer happiness scores. Additional duties include assisting in diagnosing vehicle problems, ordering parts and tools, overseeing warranty claims, and training/supervising service department employees. This position also involves setting schedules, assigning tasks, reinforcing company policies, encouraging legal compliance, maintaining good relationships with factories, and collaborating with upper management on hiring and discipline decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee service orders and flow of Drive Lane.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service.
  • Take ownership of the customer's experience by carrying out additional assignments to leave a positive impression.
  • Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries (phone or in person).
  • Ensure the daily inventory of technicians' time is consistently sold to service customers.
  • Distribute work between technicians efficiently.
  • Answer technical questions about vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairs.
  • Maintain Customer Happiness scores at or above company standards.
  • Assist in diagnosing vehicle problems.
  • Order parts and tools as necessary.
  • Oversee administration of warranty claims.
  • Oversee training and supervision of the service department.
  • Set schedules and assign tasks to service department employees.
  • Reinforce company policies and adhere to company standards.
  • Encourage compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the factory(s).
  • Foster positive employee relations.
  • Collaborate with upper management to make service department hiring and discipline decisions.
