The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding automotive service and repair. This role requires excellent communication skills to listen carefully to customer concerns, coordinate repairs with technicians, and clearly explain necessary services and recommendations to customers. The Service Advisor ensures efficient service scheduling and manages customer expectations to promote satisfaction and loyalty. This full-time position operates in a professional, fast-paced dealership setting dedicated to customer service excellence and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and reliable work ethic
  • Customer service focused with safety awareness
  • Basic computer and internet proficiency
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and pay attention to detail
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience at a dealership or large automotive service facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments in person or by phone, ensuring prompt and accurate vehicle diagnosis
  • Follow up on repair status, communicate updates to customers, and obtain approvals for revised estimates
  • Provide repair recommendations and manage customer expectations regarding service delivery
  • Verify that all repairs pass quality control inspections and test drives before delivery
  • Stay informed on vehicle operation, warranties, campaigns, state regulations, and Technical Service Bulletins
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures and enforce them within the service department
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing education
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team success
