About The Position

Automotive Sales Lot Porters verify receipt of new vehicles and inspect them thoroughly for damage. They organize and park vehicles in the new vehicle lot, move and clean vehicles, and help keep used vehicles in optimal condition. Porters work with the Used Car Manager as needed to support departmental operations.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Physical ability to use computer hardware and software.
• Ability to prioritize.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured under company insurance.
• Sense of spatial orientation.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoices and inspect vehicles for damage.
• Keep the lot organized by moving and parking vehicles as directed by the GSM or Sales Department.
• Catalog and store keys.
• Clean the interiors and exteriors of used vehicles as needed, including trunks, glove compartments, tires, and windows.
• Start vehicles daily and report problems or concerns.
• Perform light vehicle maintenance as needed, such as replacing windshield wiper blades, repairing or changing tires, replenishing fluids and gas, and charging batteries.
• Ensure required forms and stickers are completed and properly displayed.

• Competitive pay of $17.50 per hour.
• Paid time off; new full-time employees accrue 4 hours per pay period, approximately 96 hours in the first year, with accrual increases over time.
