Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of automotive sales experience.
  • One year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Strong sales skills with excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Organized with thorough follow-up skills to maintain client relationships before and after sales.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak a second language is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers on the sales floor and perform needs analysis for vehicle make, type, and desired features.
  • Explain vehicle features and demonstrate operation in the showroom or during test drives.
  • Use computer databases to research availability of models and optional equipment.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance & Insurance Managers to negotiate sales price, including tax, trade-in allowances, licensing fees, discounts, and financing or lease terms.
  • Walk the lot for visual inspection of vehicle inventory.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and arrange vehicle delivery and registration.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers and orient them with the vehicle’s features and operation.
  • Attend and complete required training sessions and department meetings.
