About The Position
The Parts Handler performs day-to-day activities in a production yard or warehouse in accordance with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Production/Yard Leader may direct the position to ensure parts are handled safely, efficiently, and properly. The role involves locating and retrieving automotive parts, preparing orders for delivery, handling related paperwork, and communicating with Sales and Dispatch. The employee is expected to maintain a positive and friendly attitude and keep the work area clean. This position does not supervise employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, and graphics software.
- Ability to communicate basic messages orally, write brief messages, keep simple records, and explain routine procedures.
- Ability to follow clear directions and procedures to solve routine, repetitive problems.
- Ability to prioritize assigned and routine tasks and handle them appropriately.
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds; on occasion, may be asked to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles, including in awkward positions, and to wear personal protective equipment as needed.

Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver around the yard or warehouse.
- Find and retrieve parts.
- Package parts for delivery or prepare them for delivery.
- Complete paperwork related to parts.
- Pull work orders.
- Use hand and power tools to remove parts from cars.
- Operate a powered industrial truck, such as a forklift, or an order picker.
- Pull and prepare sheet metal and other orders.
- Tag all parts properly for their destination.
- Communicate with Sales and Dispatch.
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and appropriate behavior during work hours.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
