The Service Parts Procurement Specialist is extremely knowledgeable about automotive parts and accessories and can accurately answer Service Technician questions and satisfy dealership demands. He/she locates automotive parts from a variety of source options (such as the internet, vendors, other dealerships, etc.) and arranges delivery. Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong customer service and organizational skills, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

Excellent organizational skills
Experience with and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
Previous experience working for a parts provider/supplier (e.g. AutoZone, Pepboys, NAPA, etc.) or an automobile dealership service department parts counter.

Responsibilities

Finds and procures parts as requested by the Service Technicians for vehicle repairs.
Reviews and compares various parts sources for optimal pricing
Ensures parts warranty is available (when appropriate) and tracked for claims filings.
Files claims for procured parts under warranty with the providing vendor.
Evaluates new versus rebuilt/salvage parts costs and/or OEM versus aftermarket options and makes recommendations to the service manager as appropriate.
Tracks all parts orders to ensure timely delivery or re-ordering as required.
Organization and reconciliation of parts and parts orders ongoing.
Other duties as assigned by dealership management as required.
