Automotive Parts Driver
About The Position
The Automotive Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership. The role involves coordinating pickups with the Parts Manager, Inventory Control Clerk, Parts Counter staff, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before departing, documenting deliveries, and maintaining the delivery vehicle and professional appearance of the parts department. Requirements
- Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a vehicle parts department.
Responsibilities
- Deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors.
- Pick up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, coordinating with the Parts Manager, Inventory Control Clerk, Parts Counter staff, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before leaving.
- Complete a log at the time of delivery and request the recipient’s signature.
- Unload the truck each night.
- Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Maintain the parts delivery vehicle and ensure it is clean and operating properly.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
