About The Position

The General Service Technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is responsible for providing exceptional 5 Star service through effective communication about vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting guest expectations for timing and quality. The position may be full-time or part-time, depending on business needs, and is paid hourly.

Requirements

• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
• Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, tire changes, mounting and installation, and TPMS service and repair.
• Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as replacing bulbs, wiper blades, and filters, and battery testing and installation.
• Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading deliveries, and stocking inventory.
• Assist with general store duties and maintain the store in excellent, clean, and guest-ready condition according to Monro standards.
• Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, use dedicated test-drive routes, and observe local traffic and safety laws.
• Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
• Consistently use required safety standards as set forth in training, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
• Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
