About The Position

The General Service Technician is an hourly, full-time or part-time role based on business needs. The technician performs basic vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role focuses on delivering exceptional 5 Star service by communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions effectively and meeting guests’ expectations for timing and quality.

Requirements

• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Monro standards.
• Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
• Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as replacing bulbs, wiper blades, and filters, and battery testing and installation.
• Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
• Assist with general store duties and maintain the store’s cleanliness and guest-ready condition to Monro standards.
• Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
• Test drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, using designated test drive routes and following local traffic and safety laws.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards, and consistently follow required safety standards.
• Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
• Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
