About The Position

The General Service Technician is an hourly, full-time or part-time position based on the needs of the business. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role delivers exceptional 5 Star service through effective communication about vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting guests’ expectations for service timing and quality.

Requirements

Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements, and battery testing and installation.
Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
Assist with general store duties and maintain the store in excellent condition, following Monro cleanliness standards and keeping it guest-ready.
Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque, Oil safety, and compliance procedures.
Test-drive vehicles in accordance with Monro’s Road Test policy, using designated test-drive routes and observing local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
Consistently use required safety standards established by training, policies, and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
