About The Position

A growing national auto auction company is hiring an Automotive Diagnostic Technician for its Baton Rouge/Hammond region. The position involves traveling between the Baton Rouge and Hammond auctions in a mechanic's demo van. The technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles including cars, vans, and light trucks, and must have experience diagnosing both gas and diesel engines. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, no nights or weekends, and an early finish on Fridays. Compensation is $65,000–$75,000 based on experience. Requirements

At least 5 years of diagnostic automotive technician or mechanic experience.
Experience diagnosing gas and diesel engines.
Ability to work on various makes and models.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good set of tools; specialty tools are provided.
Knowledge of mechanical systems and repair techniques.
Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle urgent repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, accountable, and professional.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on cars, vans, and light trucks.
Perform engine tune-ups and troubleshoot complex vehicle issues.
Repair or replace parts and components as needed.
Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Provide courteous, efficient customer service.
Communicate operational concerns to management in a timely manner.
Work independently and collaboratively with the team.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
