Temporary Automotive Detailer - Car Washer - Gulf Shores Airport
About The Position
Enterprise Mobility is hiring a temporary, full-time Automotive Detailer to wash, clean, sanitize, inspect, and prepare cars, trucks, and vans for customer rentals, maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards. The position is based at Gulf Shores Regional Airport, 1155 Commerce Dr, Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542, and is limited to a maximum of 89 days of service. The starting pay is $16 per hour, based on a 40-hour workweek. Two schedules are offered: Schedule 1 is Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; Schedule 2 is Saturday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., Sunday and Monday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Friday, 2 p.m.–9 p.m. The role includes preparing vehicle interiors and exteriors, checking vehicle condition and safety, fueling and staging vehicles, maintaining a clean work area and branch appearance, and assisting or transporting customers when needed. Enterprise Mobility operates car rental and other mobility services through brands including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on the driving record in the past three years.
- Candidates with more than one excessive speeding violation—defined as 26 or more miles per hour over the posted speed limit—on their driving record within the past three years will be disqualified.
- Must have no drug- or alcohol-related conviction on the driving record in the past five years.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future work-authorization sponsorship from the company.
- Must live within a reasonable commute of no more than 30 minutes from the work location.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available for temporary work lasting a maximum of 89 days.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interiors according to industry-standard protocols.
- Wash, clean, and dry vehicle exteriors, including cars of different sizes, vans, and trucks.
- Check fuel levels and warning lights; inspect windshields for damage; restore vehicle settings to clear prior customer data; check for customer belongings and place valuables in Lost & Found; and verify that vehicle registration is present, current, and matches the license plate.
- Check fluid levels and add fluids as needed; check tire condition, pressure, and tread depth; and inspect vehicle exteriors for damage.
- Fuel and stage vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles for safety concerns and report warning lights or vehicle, windshield, or tire damage; remove vehicles from processing when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and report unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to remove stains, pet hair, and odors.
- Assist customers when needed and potentially transport customers to and from branches.
- Help maintain the appearance of branch locations, including cleaning desktops, countertops, phones, floors, and bathrooms; removing trash; vacuuming; sweeping the lot; and completing other daily cleanliness tasks.
- Improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
