About The Position

The Huffines Accounting Office Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations at the dealership, including financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a keen attention to detail and a deep understanding of financial accounting principles.

Requirements

  • 5+ years auto dealership office experience required
  • Proven auto dealership general office experience like titles, taxes, payroll, AP, AR, Etc.
  • Knowledge of automotive office work and responsibilities
  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work well with others, manage positively, train and help with any duties needed
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience, preferably in an automotive environment, is preferred but not required
  • Lead by example, be approachable and coachable

Responsibilities

  • Work with the manager of the finance/accounting departments to analyze financial records to ensure dealership goals are met
  • Oversee and assist with general accounting procedures such as payables/receivables/billing
  • Payoff/Floor units daily
  • Assist and ensure the month-end processes are completed on time and accurately
  • Prepare and pay Vehicle Inventory Tax (VIT)
  • Calculate and prepare salespeople's commission sheets for payroll
  • Report sales and incentives with the manufacturer
  • Process cancellations and post-aftermarket billing statements
  • Reconcile floor plan and reserve statements
  • Post manufacturer invoices and reconcile statements
  • Post daily bank transactions/credit card transactions and reconcile statements
  • Review all schedules for accuracy and research and resolve all issues
  • Maintain compliance with accounting records
  • Keep a very busy office organized at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
