About The Position

This position is for a Hybrid/Local TX Govt Automation Tester with 12+ years of experience. The role involves designing automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically, determining the priority for test scenarios, and creating execution plans. The QA Automation Analyst 3 will be responsible for the development and maintenance of test scripts for both manual and automated testing. This includes preparing UAT test cases, aligning them with business requirements, conducting walkthroughs with stakeholders, tracking test case execution, providing reporting, and using Jira to log and track defects. The role also involves developing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices and supporting the development team in various environments. The position requires experience working in an Agile environment and troubleshooting defects as needed.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Experience in writing and executing test cases, as well as creating test plans.
  • Knowledge of software usability concepts and requirements traceability.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  • Knowledge of Jira Project management tool.
  • Strong SQL query knowledge – Create, Read, Update, Delete.
  • Experience in writing and executing tests automation using UFT.
  • Experience in conducting API Testing and automation using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER or similar.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a scrum team in an agile environment to deliver software release sprints for HHSC, on time, with a focus on quality using Jira and c.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management using industry-standard tools such as Jira and systematically log, categorize, and prioritize identified defects, ensuring a clear and organized record of issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of SQL query writing to perform Create, Read, Update, Delete operations.
  • Experience in API Testing using Postman, or similar.
  • Experience working on different types of testing: e.g., unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance.
  • Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or design work.
  • QA automation testing and scripting experience using UFT.
  • Ability to effectively organize and present complex technical information, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and with sprint development team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure under tight time constraints.
  • Be self-driven, helping the team achieve goals and overall project delivery milestones.
  • Skill communicating with varied levels of staff and end users to develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Experience utilizing accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming preferred.
  • Experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and system preferred.

Responsibilities
