About The Position

This position is for a Hybrid/Local TX Govt Automation Tester with extensive experience in usability, traceability, Xray, SQL, CI/CD, API testing tools (Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER), and UFT. The role involves developing and maintaining test scripts for both manual and automated testing, preparing UAT test cases, tracking test case execution, and logging defects in Jira. The QA Automation Analyst 3 will support the development team in various environments, troubleshoot defects, and ensure quality in software release sprints within an Agile framework. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and effective communication with stakeholders and end-users.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in writing and executing test cases, as well as creating test plans.
  • 8 years of knowledge of software usability concepts and requirements traceability, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • 8 years of knowledge of Xray Test Case management tool.
  • 8 years of knowledge of SQL query writing to perform CURD operations.
  • 8 years of proficiency in using CI/CD pipelines to enhance software development testing processes.
  • 8 years of experience in conducting API Testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMETER or similar.
  • 8 years of experience in writing and executing tests automation using UFT.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Proficient in defect tracking and management using industry-standard tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working on different types of testing: e.g., unit, integration, regression, smoke, user acceptance, system, stress, and performance.
  • Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or design work.
  • Be self-driven, helping the team achieve goals and overall project delivery milestones.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and with sprint development team.
  • Skill communicating with varied levels of staff and end users to develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to assist by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs and handling multiple projects.
  • Ability to accurately track time spent working on projects, as well as the ability to accurately estimate changes or enhancements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming preferred.
  • Experience working with the State of Texas HHS agency and system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and diagnose quality complaints, track down components, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Verify logs, databases, and other data to track and flag quality concerns and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
  • Prepare UAT test cases, aligning them with business requirements, and conducting walkthroughs with stakeholders.
  • Track test case execution and provide reporting.
  • Use Jira to log and track defects.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices.
  • Support the development team in dev, test, and UAT environments and troubleshoot defects.
  • Create and review performance testing scripts and review results.
  • Develop detailed UAT test plans and test cases based on business requirements and record test results.
  • Coordinate UAT schedules and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Participate in test readiness and provide recommendations for go/no-go decisions.
