About The Position
Howmet Aerospace, a global leader in advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, is seeking an Automation Technician for its Howmet Casting plant in Wichita Falls, Texas. The company specializes in jet engine components, aerospace fastening systems, and titanium structural parts, contributing to more fuel-efficient and quieter aerospace engines and sustainable ground transportation. The Automation Technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, and repair of robots and associated automated equipment, including programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, conveyors, and parts orienters. This role requires the use of various tools and testing instruments, and adherence to technical documentation such as manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. The position requires working an off shift.
Requirements
- Must be able to work an off shift.
- Understanding of electronic application, electrical circuits, mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming of the various controllers and robots.
- Must pass Jaeger I eye exam.
Responsibilities
- Review related manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed
- Documentation of the automation processes throughout the life cycle of the process.
- Participate in any quality audits pertaining to Automation.
- Programs robot to perform specified tasks, applying knowledge of programming language using teach pendants, keyboards, control panels, or robot controllers.
- Modifies programs to refine movement of robot using the various controllers.
- Observes robots and related equipment to detect malfunctions, and repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Observes and maintains quality of the automation processes.
- Initiates and maintains documentation throughout the development and qualification process.
- Other duties as required.
