About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Automation Technician to support laboratory automation initiatives within the Pressure Labs and High Throughput Screening Labs. This opportunity is intended for an individual pursuing a degree or career in automation, robotics, engineering technology, computer science, or a related field and is seeking hands-on industrial experience. The successful candidate will help implement, test, benchmark, troubleshoot, and optimize automation technologies that support pharmaceutical research.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree or career pathway in automation technology, mechatronics, robotics, engineering technology, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory environments and safe work practices.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, and passion for automation.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with coding, automation software, or artificial intelligence models; advanced expertise is not required.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive work toward defined implementation milestones.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic, internship, or personal project experience involving automation, robotics, instrumentation, process control, or laboratory equipment.
  • Exposure to programming or scripting tools, such as Python, VBA, SQL, or low-code platforms.
  • Interest in artificial intelligence-enabled technologies, digital laboratory tools, and data-driven process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support automation activities within the Pressure Labs and High Throughput Screening Labs.
  • Work with equipment vendors and internal stakeholders to install, configure, test, and commission laboratory automation systems.
  • Execute equipment benchmarking, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Track timelines and drive completion of implementation milestones.
  • Document procedures, test results, issues, and equipment performance.
  • Identify creative opportunities to improve automated workflows and laboratory operations.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to scientists, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong organization, accountability, and follow-through.
