About The Position

Meds.com is seeking an Automation Technician to be the backbone of its physical pharmacy and laboratory operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the facility is in peak condition, the supply chain is uninterrupted, and the clinical environment meets all regulatory standards. This is a hands-on position focused on facilities management, logistics, and equipment maintenance, not a desk job. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who enjoys high-stakes logistics and hands-on facilities management, working in an office environment in Deerfield Beach, FL.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in facilities coordination, maintenance management, or operations logistics.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, medical lab, or food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Comfortable using maintenance software (CMMS), inventory management systems, and basic office tech (Slack, Google Workspace).
  • Willingness to perform minor repairs such as fixing a loose door handle or troubleshooting a jammed label printer.
  • Understanding that in a pharmacy, "clean" and "organized" are legal requirements.
  • Ability to be on your feet most of the day and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related scientific field.
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and specialized laboratory equipment (e.g., compounding hoods, mixers, and climate-control systems).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external contractors and specialized technicians, ensuring work is performed safely and without disrupting pharmacy operations.
  • Serve as the "first responder" for facility issues (leaks, power glitches, equipment failures) to minimize operational downtime.
  • Monitor levels of non-medical supplies (packaging, cleaning agents, lab consumables) and place orders to ensure zero stock-outs.
  • Maintain an accurate log of laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and serviced according to state and federal pharmacy boards.
  • Review supply costs and vendor contracts regularly to ensure the facility is operating efficiently.
  • Manage the secure receipt of raw materials and laboratory supplies, verifying shipments against manifests and ensuring proper storage (e.g., cold chain requirements).
  • Support the high-volume shipping department to ensure daily prescription volume is moved out of the facility and into the carrier network (FedEx/UPS/USPS) on time.
  • Coordinate the safe and compliant disposal of laboratory and hazardous waste in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.

Benefits

  • 100% company-paid Medical, Dental, Vision premium coverage
  • Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance
  • 401K with company match
