The Automation Technician associate performs service work on plasma, oxy/fuel cutting systems, and robots. This position is also responsible for installation, preventative maintenance, onsite troubleshooting and service, and component repair. Performs component upgrades while ensuring a safe working environment. Committed to safety and following company policies including the use of personal protective equipment. Collaborates to troubleshoot cutting systems, components and robots. Services components at customer sites on hard automation with mechanical and electrical issues. Ideally brings a strong understanding of Welding Processes and Applications, Automation Motion devices, cutting systems, robotics software and controllers in order to collaboratively discuss and address issues, provide training, and navigate and solve complex technical challenges. Helps maintain quality standards by testing, calibrating, and running machines according to manufacturer’s specifications. Supports team clarity by completing service documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment by ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed both at Airgas and customer facilities. Responsible for attending two weeks of company paid training per year focused on advancing the technician's ability to serve our customer base. Works closely with customers as a trusted partner to foster strong relationships and deliver shared success for the customer and RDA. Maintains accurate and timely expense reporting.
