About The Position

The Automation Specialist- PLC and Automation Controls will serve as a technical resource within McNaughton-McKay, supporting the sales of assigned technologies. This role involves developing relationships with sales teams and decision-makers at strategic accounts, monitoring technology trends, and creating marketing strategies to promote sales. The specialist will also act as a technical liaison with vendors, manage inventory, train internal staff, and provide customer support for product and integration issues. This is a full-time position based in Greenville, SC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3+ years of controls engineering experience required.
  • Product knowledge of assigned technology products.
  • Thorough knowledge of strategic customer applications.
  • Proven analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience will be considered in lieu of meeting the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical resource for the sales support of assigned technologies.
  • Develop relationships with Sales and decision-makers within identified strategic accounts.
  • Monitor technology trends evaluated and implemented at identified strategic accounts.
  • Develop a marketing strategy with Sales to promote the sales of assigned technologies at strategic accounts.
  • Continuously document activities with identified strategic accounts.
  • Utilize relationships and documented activities to leverage value-add at identified strategic accounts.
  • Establish relationships with vendors of assigned technologies as the technical liaison for sales and support.
  • Participate in the development of contracts and agreements with vendors of assigned technologies.
  • Manage appropriate inventory product mix and levels for assigned technologies.
  • Manage the availability and the identified strategic account requirements for the assigned technology products.
  • Manage the availability and the ESG requirements for the assigned technology products.
  • Train inside and technical support personnel on the assigned technology products.
  • Educate the sales staff on the assigned technology products.
  • Develop and maintain the information and support infrastructure required for the assigned technology products.
  • Qualify the level of assistance provided to customers with product and integration issues.
  • Create the required service procedures to support the assigned technology products.
  • Develop vendor service/support strategies for the assigned technology products.
