Designs, develops, and implements automated manufacturing equipment and control systems (Industrial automation). Troubleshoots complex technical issues, leads validation efforts, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies while ensuring continuous improvement and safety. This role involves developing, coding, and commissioning automated systems, including PLC programming, robotics, and motion control systems. The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and non-standard failures in automated machinery to minimize downtime. Project management for automation initiatives, from scope and timelines to design and deployment, is a key responsibility. Validation protocols and ensuring compliance with safety, industry, and quality standards are critical. Analyzing production workflows and data to optimize performance, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs is also part of the role. Additionally, the position requires creating technical reports, standard operating procedures, and electrical documentation, as well as providing technical leadership and training. Coordination with external vendors for design, procurement, and installation of new equipment is expected. The role also emphasizes reliable and consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependability. The engineer must execute duties satisfactorily, follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, attend safety meetings, and report safety issues. Effective teamwork, open feedback, respectful treatment of others, ownership of work, accountability, and clear communication of work/project status are essential. Adherence to department quality standards and raising concerns to management are required.
