About The Position

The Automation Electrician will have experience in various electrical systems and be knowledgeable about safety protocols and regulations. The Automation Electrician will perform electrical assembly and power-up of machines, equipment, and subassemblies using Lean and 5S methodologies and following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.

Requirements

  • High School/GED required
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training required
  • Understanding of both AC and DC type circuits required
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) required
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications
  • Have PLC Software Knowledge
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Proficient in English

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical sub assemblies and panels per drawing and/or work instructions with supervision.
  • Bend conduit and solder components.
  • Recognize wire and conduit types and their usage and use correct terminology to describe each.
  • Understand both AC and DC type circuits.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
  • Wire machinery per instructions or engineered drawings.
  • Use basic electrical test equipment and understand the readings.
  • Perform final hook up of electrical connections.
  • Assist other electricians when needed.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical formulas and their applications.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PLC components and their functions.
  • Effectively use PC or laptop computer.
