Automation / Controls Engineer
About The Position
This role is for a Process Automation Engineer with heavy manufacturing experience in a primary metals manufacturing company located in Colorado. As part of the Maintenance team, the engineer will be responsible for developing new processes to improve production and rolling mill maintenance. The position involves designing control systems (hardware and software) to enhance production times, material quality, and equipment performance. The role also includes seeking opportunities for automation to improve quality, save time, and reduce costs in process control systems, working with Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs, drives, and HMIs. Responsibilities also include writing requirements specifications, high-level design and systems architecture specifications for steel production process control, and providing ongoing maintenance support and problem resolution for process control systems.
Requirements
- Three or more years of relevant experience
- Must have the ability to read drawings – hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical.
- Should have five or more years’ experience as an Automation specialist in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be a US Citizen or US Green Card holder.
Nice To Haves
- Degree preferred, but expertise in automation and robotics projects is more important.
