About The Position

This role is for an Equipment Technician, specifically an Automated UT Equipment Technician. The position involves working in a radioactively controlled environment and requires travel to nuclear power plants. The role is available for the Fall 2026 Nuclear Outage Season, with mandatory training in June 2026. Overtime is authorized, and a travel per diem of $167 per day is provided. The work schedule during outage season is demanding, typically 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, for 3-12 weeks per outage season. Travel to Houston or Wilmington for training and/or testing may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and as part of a team.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and/or elevated heights.
  • Must have a clean background with no outstanding/pending legal charges.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at time of hire and random.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience in an automated/robotic environment.
  • Knowledge and experience integrating and setting up complex computerized tooling systems.
  • Competent in mechanical and electrical problem solving.
  • Operational knowledge of both wireless and wired communications systems.
  • Competent in reading isometric drawings and navigating through the nuclear power plant.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Non-US Citizen must hold current work visa or green card.

Nice To Haves

  • UT Level I training is a plus.
  • Mechanical and or electrical background is a plus.
  • Experience working in an automated/robotic 3D environment is a plus.
  • Experience with network pan tilt zoom camera operations and functionality.
  • Ability to work at elevation (up to 80’ in the air).

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as an Automated UT Equipment Technician.
  • Integrate and set up complex computerized tooling systems.
  • Operate and manage network pan tilt zoom camera systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in automated/robotic systems.
  • Read isometric drawings and navigate nuclear power plants to identify components.
  • Work in radioactively controlled environments.
  • Travel for extended periods (3-12 weeks per outage season) and to specific training locations.
  • Work 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week during outage seasons.
  • Work in high heat and confined space environments.
  • Work at elevations up to 80 feet.
  • Maintain a questioning attitude and follow verbal instructions.
  • Take initiative in new situations and environments.
  • Be a self-starter and work effectively in a team.
  • Report to work fit for duty and on time.
