About The Position

Parsons is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5). This role involves preparing drawings and computer models for complex designs, working closely with design originators, and ensuring the accuracy and proper filing of all drafted materials. The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret and incorporate client standards. This is an opportunity to contribute to significant aviation infrastructure and safety programs across the nation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Computer savvy and a fast learner.
4 plus years of Computer Aided Drafting experience.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and drafting techniques required.
Good oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
Must be able to meet customer security requirements.
A background check by the Federal Authorities will be performed.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred.
Able to work independently, with a minimum or no supervision from the engineer.
May occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details.
May provide advice and guidance to lower level drafters or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.

Responsibilities

Prepare drawings or computer models of complex or original designs, including multiple views and detail drawings.
Work from sketches, computer models, and verbal information supplied by architects, engineers, or designers.
Select required information from computer programs, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical guides.
Understand the reference/model file concept for preparation of facility construction drawing packages.
Manipulate multiple reference/model files to prepare specific discipline plan drawings and sections/details.
Interpret and incorporate client’s Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) standards.
Check the validity of drawing contents prior to adding to the inventory.
Ensure the proper filing of drawings.
Provide copies of drawings upon request.
Accept incoming drawing packages from Drafting Manager or Lead Drafter.
Create PDF files from stored folders when no hardcopies are provided and directed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
