About The Position

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a dedicated Submerged Arc Welder to join their team. In this critical production role, the Auto Welder (Submerged Arc Welder) is responsible for ensuring that all parts passing through the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) machine are welded to meet the company's highest quality and safety standards. This position plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of their products and supporting efficient, high-standard manufacturing processes. Applicants must attach their resume to be considered.

Requirements

Previous experience in steel product manufacturing.
Able to pass a GMAW Weld Test.
Prior machine operation experience.
Proficient in welding techniques with a solid understanding of welding principles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to conduct thorough visual inspections of welded parts for quality and compliance.
Willingness to work a 3rd shift schedule (typical schedule 10pm-6am).

Nice To Haves

Crane certifications or experience.
At least one year of experience in SMAW welding in a production environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Competent in with measuring tools.
Previous weld certifications (such as AWS).
Welding degree from an accredited technical college or equivalent experience in welding.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret shop drawings to weld structural parts in accordance with Nucor Building Systems' weld procedures and quality standards.
Work effectively within a team environment, exhibiting a strong work ethic and positive personal and team safety attitudes.
Operate welding machinery, including Submerged Arc Welders (SAW), and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and safely used.
Be committed to working the 3rd shift schedule (typically 10pm-6am) and willing to work overtime as required to meet production demands.
Perform additional duties as directed by Production Supervisors and Group Leaders to support the overall production process.
Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
