About The Position

The End Welder Operator is responsible for operating welding equipment to join metal slitted material in accordance with plant policies and procedures. This role ensures a safe and compliant operation during their shift, performing various tasks related to machine operation, quality control, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

1 year experience in welding.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and welding operation.
Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Employees must be able to work with a flexible schedule, which may require over-time.
Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the setup and operation of mill entry, Flatteners, End Welder Machine and Accumulator.
Responsible for cross weld quality.
Responsible for coil edge condition.
Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.
Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Responsible for performing routine PM of equipment.
Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Other duties as assigned.
