About The Position
AB Dynamics is a leading specialist in automotive test systems, supplying advanced solutions like driving robots, ADAS soft crash targets, and driving simulators to major vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers globally. Their technology is crucial for developing autonomous vehicles. This role is a temporary, short-term assignment to support operations, with the length varying based on workload. The Auto Test Technician is responsible for vehicle maintenance and fabrication, supporting the company's work in testing and developing autonomous vehicles. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced automotive engineering environment.
Requirements
- Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Proficiency in welding and light fabrication techniques
- Familiarity with robotic platforms and test equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift, if necessary 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day
- Must have vision abilities which include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Test Engineers and test equipment, including mechanical and/or electrical repair and troubleshooting, preparing vehicles for testing, fabrication for specialized mounting brackets or parts, and instrumentation support.
- Assists with test vehicle shipment, inspection, and repairs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot robotic platforms and other testing equipment.
- Remove and replace bumper panels, airbags, vehicle brakes, and other vehicle components as needed.
- Fabricate and weld various mounts and custom parts.
- Ensures all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe work environment.
- Incorporate safe work practices into daily activities and immediately reporting near misses, hazards or injuries.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Complete required safety training, attending scheduled meetings.
- Using equipment properly, and wearing appropriate PPE as required (face covers, ear plugs, gloves etc.).
