About The Position

AB Dynamics is a specialist in automotive test systems, supplying solutions such as driving robots, ADAS soft crash targets, and driving simulators to vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers. Its technology is used in applications including autonomous vehicle development. The Auto Test Technician is a temporary, short-term role supporting operations for a limited period, with assignment length potentially varying according to workload and business needs. The position focuses on vehicle maintenance and fabrication in a fast-paced automotive engineering environment and supports Test Engineers and test equipment. The role requires technical expertise and an interest in automotive testing and autonomous vehicles.

Requirements

Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Proficiency in welding and light fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with robotic platforms and test equipment.
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to walk, bend, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more if necessary.
Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Support Test Engineers and test equipment through mechanical and/or electrical repair and troubleshooting.
Prepare vehicles for testing and provide instrumentation support.
Fabricate specialized mounting brackets and parts.
Assist with test vehicle shipment, inspection, and repairs.
Maintain and troubleshoot robotic platforms and other testing equipment.
Remove and replace bumper panels, airbags, vehicle brakes, and other vehicle components as needed.
Fabricate and weld mounts and custom parts.
Follow safety protocols and incorporate safe work practices into daily activities.
Immediately report near misses, hazards, and injuries.
Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures, complete required safety training, attend scheduled meetings, use equipment properly, and wear required personal protective equipment.
Perform other duties as requested.
