About The Position

Fleet Farm is hiring an Auto Service Technician to perform automotive maintenance and repair services for customers. Depending on the technician’s skill level, the work may include basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and courtesy checks; tire services such as mounting and balancing; or more advanced alignment, brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust diagnosis and repair. Technicians are expected to complete services to a high standard, meet customer needs, road test vehicles, and keep store management informed of equipment repair problems. The role also includes ongoing technical learning to keep up with changing automotive technology.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in a customer-focused role in an auto service or mechanical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Change oil and oil filters.
Check fluids and air filters.
Install batteries and check charging systems.
Check and replace bulbs and wipers.
Mount and balance tires, as applicable to the technician’s role.
Perform wheel alignment checks and wheel alignments, as applicable to the technician’s role.
Install parts, including shocks, struts, and accessories.
Diagnose and repair brakes, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems to specifications, as applicable to the technician’s role.
Perform complete vehicle courtesy checks and inspections, as applicable to the technician’s role.
Road test vehicles.
Ensure services are completed with a high degree of quality and meet customer needs.
Inform store management of equipment mechanical repair problems as they occur.
Participate in formal training sessions to stay current with changing automotive technology.
