About The Position

The Mobility Sales Consultant at Ilderton Conversion is responsible for generating sales for mobility related vehicles & adaptive equipment, creating relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service and support. This position involves the application of mobility equipment and for that, a full understanding of customer needs is essential, as well as a thorough understanding of Ilderton Conversion mobility capabilities. The successful candidate for this role will enjoy a generous commission plan, plus excellent benefits, including health, dental and vision plans, 401K, life insurance and paid time off.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of sales or customer-facing experience (automotive, mobility, medical equipment, or related field preferred)
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills with a high degree of empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to explain technical products and processes in a clear, easy-to-understand manner
  • Comfortable working with individuals with physical limitations, disabilities, caregivers, and family members
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deals and follow-ups simultaneously
  • Ability to coordinate with service departments, vendors, and third-party agencies to complete vehicle modifications
  • Basic computer proficiency (CRM systems, email, digital paperwork, quoting tools)
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug test (as applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow customer relationships in local market.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with customers to secure sales.
  • Conduct thorough consultations with customers to understand their mobility requirements, including any physical limitations or special needs.
  • Utilize your knowledge of available vehicles and mobility equipment to recommend suitable options that meet the customer's specific needs and preferences.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements and technologies in mobility equipment, including wheelchair lifts, ramps, hand controls, and other adaptive devices.
  • Arrange and conduct test drives to allow customers to experience the functionality and comfort of various vehicles.
  • Coordinate with the dealership's service department and external vendors to customize vehicles according to the customer's requirements, ensuring proper installation of adaptive equipment.
  • Assist customers in exploring financing options, including available grants, incentives, and insurance coverage for mobility-related modifications.
  • Submit quotes to obtain approval for third party pay customers including but not limited to – VA, Vocational Rehabilitation, SC Disability Boards.
  • Submit invoice for payment once complete and follow up to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner.
  • Manage all documentation related to vehicle sales and adaptations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers to address any concerns, provide assistance with additional needs, and ensure their satisfaction with the purchased vehicle. Must be clearly documented in CRM.
  • Provide basic training to customers on operating and maintaining adaptive equipment installed in their vehicles.
