About The Position

Staples Promotional Products, a division of Staples, provides customized promotional merchandise solutions. The Auto Folder operates an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package screen-printed apparel, including t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, and shorts. This piece-rate position starts at $19.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Friday, 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. The role involves accurately processing work orders and packaging finished products for shipping or warehouse storage in a cyclical production environment, often in partnership with another associate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to maintain accurate counts using basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and/or walk continuously for three hours at a time.
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer, including their uses and adjustments.
• Ability to read and comprehend work orders.
• Attention to detail to meet print-quality standards and accurately fill and package work orders with the correct materials.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package screen-printed products.
• Review work orders and package products accurately, efficiently, and safely while minimizing errors.
• Count and pack products into boxes for shipping or totes for warehouse storage.
• Verify counts against the automatic folding machine counter and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Document work order information on packing materials and attach shipping or tracking documents when needed.
• Work with a partner to process orders, sharing and alternating duties after each work order.
• Repeat the folding and packaging process for each new work order in a cyclical production environment.
• Use a pallet jack to move full pallets to the next work area and return an empty pallet for the next work order.
