About The Position

Living Spaces is hiring a full-time Folder for its Manufacturing Department. The role involves reviewing job specifications, setting up and operating folding equipment, loading sheets or fabric, and adjusting machines during production to meet quality and customer requirements. The Folder may operate two or more machines at once and may direct fellow crew members in the overall operation of a job. The position requires up to one year of relevant experience, basic mathematical ability, the ability to understand written and verbal instructions and Job Jackets, and mechanical aptitude. Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels. The role involves standing and walking most of the time, extensive lifting and bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Solvents, oils, and alcohol or alcohol replacements may be used during cleaning, lubrication, and machine upkeep. The position offers a hiring range of $17.40–$23.25. Overtime is available for eligible, non-exempt team members. Requirements

Up to one year of relevant experience.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and Job Jackets.
Mechanical aptitude.
High school degree or GED in a relevant field, or equivalent.
Ability to stand and walk 95% of the time.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform extensive lifting and bending.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise at varying levels.
May use solvents for cleaning, oils for lubrication, and alcohol or alcohol replacement during upkeep and operation of the unit.
Safety shoes are required; the company participates in the cost.

Responsibilities

Review job specifications to determine sequence, type of fold, size, and requirements.
Preset side guides, fold plates, fold rollers, and any required slitting blades or perforators.
Load sheets or fabric onto the feeder and jog sheets into position to determine final unit settings for the job.
Adjust the machine during production as needed to meet quality and customer requirements.
Operate two or more machines simultaneously when needed.
Direct fellow crew members in the overall operation involved in the job.
