About The Position
The Autism Support Professional provides support to individuals living in a residence in West Babylon, New York. This is a 20-hour weekend position, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pay rate is $21.00–$22.57 per hour, depending on years of prior experience with NYS OPWDD programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience supporting people with autism.
- Prior experience assisting persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing protective oversight to individuals living in the residence.
- Implement Residential Habilitation Plans.
- Implement Behavior Support Plans effectively and efficiently, ensuring accurate data is collected to measure each person’s progress.
- Provide assistance and instruction in basic activities of daily living, including two-person lifts where necessary.
- Provide training and support in accordance with each individual’s program plan.
- Successfully complete the AMAP course and annual recertification for administration purposes.
- Successfully complete the Life’s WORC Autism Training Workshop.
- Maintain scheduling flexibility and work beyond the normal shift when required.
- Drive agency vans equipped with GPS monitoring systems, demonstrate safe driving practices, keep vehicles clean, and maintain vehicle logs.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment and properly use and maintain household equipment and appliances.
